Governance
The shipping industry operates within a comprehensive global regulatory network of international, national, local, flag state and classification society compliance requirements. At VED, ultimate responsibility for carrying out health, safety, quality environmental protection and social policies resides with the MD. VED’s environmental training program seeks to ensure that sea and technical shore-side staff understands all Company environmental policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, the impact of vessels on the environment and the Company’s commitment to safe & clean environment. Environmental training content is customized to align with VED’s safety management system and environmentally specific equipment on board.
